Jennifer Lassiter Smith Appointed to INMED's Board of Trustees
Paxton Trust CEO reaches out to more children in need at INMED's Opportunity Center

INMED Partnerships for Children is pleased to announce that Jennifer Lassiter Smith has joined the Board of Trustees of INMED’s Family & Youth Opportunity Center in Sterling, Virginia. She is the CEO of the Margaret Paxton Memorial Trust, which funds programs for children in need.
As the former Founder and Executive Director of the Paxton Campus, which provides education, skills development and rehabilitation services for children and adults with disabilities, Ms. Smith is a seasoned expert in strategic planning, program development and fundraising, which includes the wildly popular Shocktober haunted house event. She has a J.D. degree from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School and a B.A. degree from San Diego State University-California State University, where she studied English.
“Jennifer’s complementary experience serving children with special needs and brilliant ability to form highly successful partnerships will be a great asset to our efforts to expand funding and outreach for our programs,” said Opportunity Center Executive Director Cecilia Capece.

INMED has been serving low-income communities in Loudoun since 1994. Its Family & Youth Opportunity Center was established in 2014 to provide a continuum of care and support from the prenatal period through adulthood via home visiting services to promote child development and parenting skills, case management to prevent homelessness, center- and community-based family education and financial literacy classes, after-school academic enrichment, STEAM-focused summer camps, workforce skills development and job fairs.
