Landfill Disposal Fees Increasing In Loudoun County
Loudoun County is set to increase fees for waste disposal based on the landfill's projected revenues and expenses.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County residents have a few more weeks before waste disposal fees will increase at the county landfill.
Starting on July 1, fees will increase at the Loudoun County Landfill (21101 Evergreen Mills Road Leesburg, VA). According to the county, the fee hikes are based on a financial analysis of the landfill's current and projected revenues and expenses, as well as projected tonnage receipts. The analysis recommended fee hikes to keep up with increasing operational and capital infrastructure costs.
The waste disposal fee at the landfill will increase from $71 to $78 a ton for household, commercial, industrial and vegetative waste. The fee for construction and demolition waste and other waste mixed with construction and demolition waste will increase to $85 per ton.

The minimum charge for any waste disposal will increase from $7 to $8 per vehicle.
Fees will also rise for specialty items. The fee for refrigerant-containing appliances will increase from $28 to $30. Propane tanks 20 pounds or less will cost $5 to throw out, up from $3. The cost to throw out a car tire without a rim will increase from $3 to $10.
