Loudoun County Supervisor Resigns Following Assault Charge

A member of the Board of Supervisors is accused of forcing his way into a neighbor's home in Ashburn.

Loudoun County district supervisor Shawn M. Williams has resigned his position on the Board of Supervisors effective immediately.

Williams, 44, was charged with simple assault and unlawful entry early Sunday morning. Loudoun County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Wingfoot Court in Ashburn around 1 a.m. for the report of a male who forced his way into a neighbor’s home and allegedly pushed the victim during a dispute.

Williams submitted his resignation to Chairman Scott York this afternoon.

York issued a statement Sunday morning calling for Williams’ resignation.
