The Pit Stop Closes 1 Loudoun Location, Other Remains Open
A barbecue stand that was a mainstay at a Loudoun County intersection for 17 years is closing, while the Sterling location remains open.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Barbecue fans who flock to Gilbert's Corner in Loudoun County will have to travel to another location for smoked meats and fixins'.
The Pit Stop, a barbecue spot known for cooking on an open air grill, closed its Gilbert's Corner location in Aldie after the past weekend, The Burn first reported. A spokesperson for the Pit Stop told Patch there has been confusion among customers about The Pit Stop's closing status. The Sterling location at Cascades Marketplace will remain open, and an Upper Marlboro, Maryland location is being planned.
"We want to assure our valued customers that our storefront at 46230 Cranston St in Sterling, VA is still open and will continue to serve the community," a spokesperson for the Pit Stop told Patch.

The Gilbert's Corner location had operated on weekends during the Gilbert's Corner Farmers Market and had been serving the area for 17 years.
