Loudoun County NAACP gears up to host community forum about police-community relations

Event takes place Saturday May 20, 2017 from 10a.m. to Noon, @ Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg, Virginia.

May 19, 2017 – On Saturday, a police-community forum will be held to share perspectives and spark dialogue about the “mistrust between civilians and police,” and the relationship between local minority communities and law enforcement.

The event, which will be facilitated by The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) and sponsored by the Loudoun County NAACP, will be led by a three-person panel: (1) Gregory Brown, Leesburg Chief of Police; (2) Phillip Thompson, President of the Loudoun Co. NAACP; and (3) a representative from the Loudoun Co. Sheriff’s Office.
Representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), will also be present to speak about their Future Agents in Training (FAIT) program.
