Loudoun County Police Seek Suspect In Attempted 7-Eleven Robbery

Police said the suspect displayed a gun but left a Sterling 7-Eleven Wednesday morning when the clerk couldn't open the cash register.

STERLING, VA – Loudoun County police are searching for a suspect they believe attempted to hold up a Sterling 7-Eleven early Wednesday morning and then may have tried to enter a second convenience store, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect entered the 7-Eleven in the 21900 block of Cascades Parkway just before 3 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk while displaying a weapon, police said in a news release. The suspect fled after the clerk attempted to open the cash register several times.

As police searched for the suspect, an employee at another 7-Eleven store said that a person who police believe may have been the same suspect attempted to enter the store on West Church Road. The person was unsuccessful in getting into the store because the doors were locked for security purposes, police said.
