ASHBURN, VA — Summer is almost over for Loudoun County students. The first day of school in Loudoun County Public Schools is Thursday, Aug. 22.

Bus and class schedules will go live on Aug. 12. LCPS is asking families to view schedules at staggered times to avoid a system overload — 9 a.m. for high school students, noon for middle school students and 2 p.m. for elementary school students.

Families should be aware a stricter cell phone policy is taking effect in the 2024-2025 school year. The policy approved by the Loudoun County School Board in June states elementary school students cannot use personal devices during the school day, and middle school students must keep devices silent and away in lockers. For high school students, devices must be in a classroom storage location but not on them or in their backpacks.
