Update: Loudoun Schools Change Schedule For Thursday Due To Weather

The Loudoun County school system is changing its schedule again for Thursday due to inclement weather throughout the region.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County Public Schools will not open on Thursday, Dec. 15.

The school system originally planned for a two hour delay. The change to a closure was announced on Thursday morning.

All activities that would start before 4 p.m. are cancelled.

" Scheduled activities on school campuses may be allowed after 4:00 p.m," the school system said. "An announcement will be made by NOON."

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Northern Virginia region. The advisory begins at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and will continue until 4 p.m. on Thursday in Loudoun County.

The National Weather Service expects hazardous conditions will impact Thursday morning's commute. Wintry precipitation is expected to become more intense Wednesday night into Thursday morning and become rain by Thursday afternoon.
