LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA – The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is offering to pick up and delivery prescription medications for senior residents and those who are most vulnerable to the new coronavirus, officials announced Tuesday.
In the new assistance program, members of the sheriff's office will pick up prescriptions from Loudoun pharmacies and deliver them to private residences in the county. This program will be done in coordination with the participant or their family, as well as with local pharmacies. Deliveries will be made during normal business hours.
Sheriff's office members who make the deliveries will wear a sheriff's office uniform, personal protective equipment and will maintain social distancing per CDC guidelines.

"We want to ensure residents who are physically unable to get to their pharmacy and are in critical need of their medications can receive their prescriptions in a safe manner," said Sheriff Chapman in the announcement.
Residents will need to pre-pay for the prescription and confirm their pharmacy allows third-party pick up for medication. The sheriff's office cannot deliver to assisted living communities, care facilities, senior centers or group homes.
