Man Gets 10 Years in Prison for Attempted Rape: Media Report

Incident occurred in December at Ashburn apartment complex.

A West African man who attempted to rape a woman at an Ashburn apartment complex has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, a Washington TV station reported.

Tchalim Koboya Lidawo received the sentence in the Loudoun Circuit Court on Friday after pleading no contest to two counts of attempted rape and one count of abduction with force, WUSA-CBS Channel 9 reported. The charges stem from a Dec. 4 incident.

The victim told police that Lidawo assaulted her as she was taking out trash to a dumpster in the complex. Lidawo is a native of Togo, and he may be deported when he’s released, Channel 9 said.
