LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A masked man forced a child into a car at gunpoint in Chantilly on Tuesday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The man was arrested in Arlington on Wednesday morning.

Authorities did not provide any updates on the status of the victim on Wednesday. The sheriff's office only identified the victim as a juvenile.

Police identified the man as 20-year-old Josh Patino. Patino is charged with abduction, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, brandishing a firearm, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, unlawful use of a mask, and assault and battery. He is being held in Arlington County pending extradition back to Loudoun County.

The abduction occurred around 8 p.m. in the 5000 block of Hartwood Drive in Chantilly. Investigators said a man wearing a mask, who they identified as Patino, used a gun to forced the victim into a car.

"These efforts by our detectives and the Arlington County Police Department illustrate the value of collaboration and partnerships among law enforcement in Northern Virginia," the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Mike Chapman said in a news release. "I want to thank the Arlington County Police Department for assisting us in quickly apprehending this dangerous individual."
