McGruff Safety Camps Registration: Date For Loudoun County

Get in line early for the popular McGruff Safety Camps in Loudoun Country. We have the registration date for the June and July camps.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA—These things have been going on for nearly 30 years and have become a hot ticket for kids and parents, alike. They're the McGruff Safety Camps, and they fill up quickly. Registration for this year's annual camps—about to celebrate their 30th anniversary—begins 9 a.m. April 16.

The two-session camps run from 8:30-11 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. They let children entering kindergarten and first grade to learn various topics such as fire safety, bicycle safety and 9-1-1 emergencies. Throughout the week, children will have an opportunity to meet police officers, K-9 units and a chance to see police and fire & rescue vehicles.

  • June 25-29, Countryside Elementary School, 20624 Countryside Boulevard in Sterling.
  • July 9-13 and July 16-20, Evergreen Mill Elementary School, 491 Evergreen Mills Road in Leesburg.

Beginning 9 a.m. on the 16th, registration forms can be downloaded here. Applications that are dropped off or faxed will no be accepted.

The camps began in the summer of 1988 and have continued every year through a joint effort between the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue.
