Medical Supply Donations Pour In From Loudoun County
Loudoun County is celebrating community members who have donated thousands of necessary medical supplies, but says the need continues.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has left many hospitals strapped for supplies.
Two weeks ago, Loudoun County asked residents to donate personal protective equipment to help local health care providers in need of masks, gloves and other safety gear. - 2,725 gloves
- 820 N95 respirators
- 295 surgical masks
- 202 disposable gowns
While the county is thanking everyone for the donations it has received, it says there is still a large demand for more as the area grapples with the coronavirus outbreak. The county is still accepting donations of surgical masks, N95 respirators, disposable gowns, face shields, coveralls, gloves and hand sanitizer. The county says the benefit of donating to them is twofold:
- By giving to the county, donors can avoid any potential scams trying to gather supplies and resell them for a profit.
- The county has staff on hand determining where the need for medical supplies is greatest, so donations will always go to health care providers with the most critical needs.
Residents who would like to give can find out more about the donation drive on the county's website here.
