Melody Burgess Named Director of Human Resources at Ashby Ponds

(Ashburn, Va.) - Melody Burgess has been named the new Director of Human Resources at Ashby Ponds, one of 17 retirement communities managed by Erickson Living.  Burgess brings to Ashby Ponds fifteen years of human resources experience in the senior living industry.

As the Director of Human Resources, Burgess will be responsible for building upon the strength of the community’s employee environment by recruiting, developing, and retaining team members who work toward providing superior care and service to the residents of Ashby Ponds.  She will also focus on implementing programs and practices that achieve performance goals and promote the values and vision of Erickson Living. 

Prior to joining Ashby Ponds, Burgess worked as a Senior Human Resources Manager at Greenspring, an Erickson Living community in Springfield, Va.  Before her time with Greenspring, Burgess had worked for Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. since 1999 in various capacities including Human Resources Manager, Manager of Executive Directors in Training, and Recruiter, among other positions.

“I’m truly looking forward to this new opportunity to lead the human resources team at Ashby Ponds,” said Burgess. “It is an exciting time to be part of the Ashby Ponds community.  The growth and development underway at the community provides for an invigorating and vibrant environment for residents and staff alike.”

Burgess received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from George Mason University.  She has also received a Professional in Human Resources certification, as well as a Human Resources Generalist certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.
