Missing Leesburg Man Found Dead in Mexican Mountains: Report
Area resident Hari Simran was last heard from Tuesday during hike.

Update: Hari Simran Singh Khalsa was found dead Friday, according to website FindHariSimran.com.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Hari Simran has been found,” state statement reads. “He appears to have fallen while hiking and sustained a fatal injury to the head.”

A search is underway for Hari Simran Singh Khalsa, a local yoga instructor who went missing on a Mexican mountainside on Tuesday.
Simran, 25 lives in Leesburg and runs the Raj Yoga Center in Sterling, according to WTOP.com. He was in Mexico for a yoga conference.

According to WTOP, the last message from Simran noted that he’d “accidentally summited another mountain” and would be back later than expected.
An experienced hiker, Simran entered the woods Tuesday with water, trail mix, his cell phone and a knife, according to NBC Washington. His wife, Emily Smith, is worried that he is injured.
On the site, FindHariSimran.com, organizers say teams are hiking 4 hours to reach the search area in the Tepozteco Mountains. Family and friends have journeyed to Mexico to help with the search, according to the site.
An online fundraising page has been created to pay for additional resources, including regular use of a helicopter to assist the search. More than $70,000 had been raised by Friday afternoon.
