Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene to Hold Parenting Workshop

MAB will host the first of three workshops on March 8th, 2018, sharing brilliant parenting "life hacks"

The term “Life Hack” refer to any skill, trick, or shortcut used to increase productivity and efficiency throughout your day-to-day life. Most of the time these methods are applied for smaller activities, such as figuring out how to save time cleaning the dishes or using egg cartons to store all your Christmas ornaments. But what if you could apply simple techniques to some of the most challenging aspects of life and see immediate results? This is what the Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene plans to achieve with their latest line of in-school workshops. The events will take place at their campus in Ashburn located at 20300 Bowfords, St, Ashburn, VA 20147 and feature proven Montessori techniques that help guide your children towards independence and a heightened passion for learning. In other words, the MAB faculty will be providing your family the best parenting life hacks Northern Virginia has to offer.

Starting in March, the Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene faculty will present three workshops discussing techniques and concepts that will strengthen any parent/child partnership and help moms and dads find more success (and joy) during the times you need it most. In March, the topic will focus on “balancing responsibility and control”, in April, the topic will focus on “speaking to your child” and then in May, we will focus on “media and the young child”. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP via this Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/events/172458356817212/. If you can’t make it to the event you’d like, don’t worry! Individual parent consultations are also available free of charge. All you have to do is visit their website, www.mabmontessori.com/contact, and schedule a tour today.

Head of School, Bart Theriot is excited to start bringing these monthly workshops to life and introduce the difference a Montessori education can bring to every parent. “Every family is different, but we still share many of the same goals for our children,” Bart stated. “When it comes to parenting, sometimes a small adjustment at home can make a huge difference and even lay the foundation for future success.”

Bart works alongside his mother, Beth Theriot, father, Lawrence Theriot, and wife, Jill Theriot, making MAB a unique family operation. Having been through Montessori education himself, Bart brings a unique and personal perspective which enhances their school culture unlike any other. Bart also has four boys who have provided him with firsthand experience (and a lot of practice) in successful parenting.

The Montessori Academy at Belmont Greene was founded in 2001 by Beth and Bart Theriot. They strive to maintain an authentic Montessori environment for all the students in their school. The school itself was personally designed by Beth to include areas specific for each age group, as well as an outdoor playground with a garden maintained by MAB’s own elementary students.
