More Copper Wire Stolen in Latest Ashburn Construction Site Theft

Wire reportedly taken from Willshaw Square is the third construction site theft this week

Copper wiring was removed from a construction site on the 23600 block of Willshaw Sq. in Ashburn between 6:15 p.m. Nov. 4 and 9:10 a.m. Nov. 5, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Construction site larcenies are becoming a trend in the Ashburn area. This incident follows two others this week.

In Ashburn on Tuesday, Nov. 4, unknown persons reportedly removed a water heater from a construction site on the 42600 block of Paradise Spring Circuit, and in Aldie on Monday, Nov. 3, unknown persons removed an air conditioning unit from a home being built on the 42200 block of Winning Glory Drive.

Earlier this year, 29 construction site larcenies were reported in January and February and copper wiring was reported missing from multiple Ashburn and Aldie construction sites in October.

If you notice suspicious activity at construction sites, especially at night, the police ask that you call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office 24-hour-non-emergency line at 703-777-1021.
