Motorcyclist Dies After Getting Struck By Vehicle In Ashburn

The driver of a Dodge Challenger that struck the motorcyclist in Ashburn Sunday night was charged with reckless driving, police said.

ASHBURN, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash Sunday night involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

Based on the preliminary results of its investigation, the sheriff's office has determined that the driver of a 2018 Dodge Challenger was traveling north on Bles Park Drive at around 11 p.m. Sunday when she attempted to turn onto Rock Creek Terrace. She turned into the path of the rider of a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja, which was traveling south on Bles Park Drive.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to Reston Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the car was charged with reckless driving. The crash remains under investigation. Any witnesses to the crash who have not already talked to the sheriff's office are asked to contact Investigator M. Lotz at 571-528-7509.
