Motorcyclist Dies In Collision With Toyota Prius In Sterling

A motorcyclist died Monday night when he collided with a car that pulled in front of him on Alongkian Parkway in Sterling, police said.

STERLING, VA — A motorcyclist died Monday night when he collided with a Toyota Prius that pulled in front of him on Alongkian Parkway at Lowes Island Boulevard in Sterling, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday. The motorcyclist, Stephen C. Dallaria, 40, of Great Falls was taken to Reston Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.

At 7:30 p.m. Monday, Loudoun sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle. According to their investigation, the deputies determined that the driver of the 2011 Toyota Prius was traveling westbound on Algonkian Parkway and was attempting to turn into a shopping center when he pulled in front of an Dallaria's motorcycle, which was traveling eastbound. The driver of the Prius then sideswiped a second vehicle that was sitting at the intersection, the sheriff's office said.

The Toyota Prius driver was taken to Reston Hospital Center for treatment of injuries from which he is expected to survive. This case remains under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
