Multiple Cars Struck By Heavy Rocks Thrown From Dulles Greenway Overpass: Report

Two men or boys are believed to have thrown heavy rocks onto cars passing under an overpass on the Dulles Greenway, according to reports.

ASHBURN, VA – Virginia State Police are investigating an incident in which large rocks were dropped on passing cars on the Dulles Greenway, according to a new report.

Loudoun Now reports that two cars on the Greenway were struck by large rocks on Monday night that appear to have been thrown from the Sycolin Road overpass. According to the outlet, troopers say two men were throwing the rocks, but troopers and Loudoun County deputies weren’t able to find the men.

Christina Martinez, a Loudoun County resident who reported that her car was struck by a rock, posted images on Facebook of the damage, including severe damage to her windshield. She wrote that the counts herself lucky that the rock hit the hood of her car first instead of smashing through her windshield or sun roof.
