New Independent Living Building Underway at Ashby Ponds

Ashburn, Va. – Driven by increasing demand for the active and engaged retirement lifestyle at Ashby Ponds, an Erickson Senior Living -managed community, construction is now underway on Waterford Station, a new independent living building scheduled to open in the fall of 2022.

Waterford Station will feature 79 new apartment homes with 16 of the community’s most popular one and two bedroom floor plans. Each apartment will feature open layouts and modern finishes; updated kitchens with stainless steel appliances; full-size, side-by-side washers and dryers; walk-in closets; and a vast array of interior design options to meet each resident’s personal preferences. All of the apartment homes will also feature an outdoor living space with a sought-after, screened-in porch.

Last year, Ashby Ponds completed construction on a third and final clubhouse, Blue Ridge Clubhouse, which will be connected to Waterford Station. Blue Ridge Clubhouse offers a new restaurant, a state-of-the-art fitness and aquatics center, an educational endeavors room; game room with poker tables, a full-size pickle ball court, and a salon and day spa with a manicure-pedicure room, massage room and barber shop. Outside additions include two new bocce ball courts.

In 2021, Erickson Senior Living communities received national recognition from industry experts and trade professionals for their innovative designs and high-quality construction.
