December 11, 2014 – Ashburn, VA: The fifth annual Ringing In Hope: A New Year’s Eve Celebration race will be held December 31st, 2014 at Brambleton Town Center. A signature event for the Ringing In Hope series, this race draws participants from all over the region and from around the county. The event features a 5K & 10K race on a USATF certified scenic course and a 1K walk/fun run. The walk kicks off at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 5K and 10K race at 10 a.m. and 10:10 a.m., respectively. Registration is available online at www.ringinginhope.com.
Race beneficiaries include Loudoun Habitat for Humanity and Volunteers of America-Chesapeake (Loudoun Homeless Services Center). Unique to this event, participants can designate the charity of their choice when they register and use provided online tools to raise funds individually or as a team. Representatives of each charity will available to showcase their efforts and services to the community. One-hundred percent of all funds raised on behalf of each participating charity will be received by that charity.
As past race participants have become accustomed to, Ringing In Hope traditions continue with hors d’oeuvres served at finish line and post-race massages, as well as free family fun activities to include pony rides, a barrel train ride, temporary tattoos, music, moon bounces, children’s art and more. In addition, all race participants will have their photo taken as they cross the finish line. Following the race, prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female overall winners in each race, as well as the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age categories (14 and under, 15-19 , 20-29, 30-39, etc.). Great raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the event, thanks to the many generous community sponsors. Nearly $5,000 in awards and prizes will be given out during the event!
