No Decision Yet on Shenandoah American Grill
Judge needs time to weigh more than four hours of testimony.
Loudoun District Court Judge Julia T. Cannon told parties in the that she would need more time to consider their respective arguments.
A representative of GAPSI Real Estate, the entity that owns the Ashburn Restaurant Park where Shenandoah is located, locked the doors of the restaurant on Sunday, July 10, after a dispute over rent. The restaurant owners said they were surprised by the lockout because they believed a deal had been reached the previous Friday on a forbearance agreement that required small weekly payments
The argument appears to center on whether an oral deal was legally completed to keep the restaurant open with weekly payments, while the owners awaited a cash infusion from two sources – a venture capitalist and money owed from previous business partners. The money was expected to help the grill’s owners – Kitchen Scratch LLC – pay all back rent owed.
