No Hats Allowed: Loudoun School Board Reverses Policy
The school system's new dress code will ban ballcaps from the classroom: report.

ASHBURN, VA — With the start of the new school year fast approaching, the Loudoun County School Board has changed its mind about allowing high school students to wear hats indoors, according to a media report.
Back in June, the board adopted a new dress code for the county's 90 public schools, which permitted high school students to wear hats in the classroom. But on Tuesday night, the board took another look at the policy and voted to reverse its position, barring hats from class, the website LoudounNow reported.

One board member, Eric DeKenipp, said that the school system's security staff recommended against allowing hats because they can make it difficult to identify students through security cameras, LoudounNow reported.

However, the new dress code allows students to wear head coverings to follow their religious beliefs, or as a matter of safety, medical condition, or in connection with a school-sponsored program, LoudounNow reports.
