Northern Virginia's Strong Start to 2014

The Northern Virginia housing market, which is home to One Loudoun, has performed consistently well throughout the past decade.  Its accomplishments have played a huge role in bringing more interested homebuyers back to the market, which has in turn boosted the region’s local economy.  And now, as February housing reports flood the headlines, it’s clear that Northern Virginia has also started 2014 off on the right foot!  

In February, the total homes sold dollar volume was up over 15% since January 2013 for our area.  These figures come in with a 13% increase in closed sales over the same time period.  And in January, listings in Northern Virginia were up an impressive 66% over December 2013, giving buyers the most selection when shopping for a new home. With this much return in January and February alone, many experts and homebuyers are hopeful for continued success moving into the spring season.  With such notable increases so early in the year, this is certainly an exciting time to buy a home!    

Additionally, according to a recent article by The Washington Post, inventory is favoring homebuyers this spring season, as supported by the January increases in listings.  And at One Loudoun, we agree!  The single-family homes and townhomes in our community are exactly the types of homes families want to live in.  Not only are the houses themselves beautifully built, but the community in which they sit in is one-of-a-kind.  Mixed-use features means everything a homeowner needs is right at their fingertips!
