NoVA, DC Wawa Stores Make Best Sandwiches In US: Survey
A convenience store with locations across DC and Virginia makes the best sandwiches in the country, a 2018 survey by Market Force says.

WASHINGTON, DC — Road trip food doesn't have to be greasy, tasteless and dried out because it was nuked in a microwave. More convenience store chains are offering in-store baked pizza and sandwiches, competing head-on with other fast-food options like McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out and others.
The survey by Market Force Information recently ranked the Best Sandwiches In America for 2018. Contenders included Panera, Subway, Firehouse Subs, Jersey Mike's, Arby’s and Jimmy John's among others. But Wawa, a Pennsylvania-based chain with 790 locations on the East Coast, is known for its made-to-order sandwiches, which currently includes a Thanksgiving-themed Hot Turkey Gobbler made up of turkey, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce, all on a hoagie roll.
The best sandwich rankings are:
