One Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested, 2nd Found Dead: Loudoun Police
Loudoun County deputies were able to arrest one suspect connected to a Middleburg bank robbery Tuesday, but a second suspect was found dead.
ASHBURN, VA — Loudoun County deputies arrested one suspect in a recent bank robbery Tuesday, but found a second suspect dead in a Hamilton residence after he barricaded himself in, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says.
The office is investigating the barricade incident, which took place in Hamilton on April 14 as deputies attempted to arrest a suspect in a bank robbery in Middleburg March 26.
According to a statement from the county sheriff’s office, deputies were trying to arrest a suspect wanted on charges of robbery and conspiracy in connection with the bank robbery. The suspect barricaded himself inside a home on the 200 block of South Saint Paul Street in Hamilton.

Deputies spoke to the man, who they say made statements suggesting he intended to harm himself. He then ceased all communication with police.
When deputies later entered the residents, they found the suspect dead, according to a police report. Loudoun County officials are not releasing that suspect’s name at this time.

However, deputies were able to detain a second suspect in the robbery the same day. Paul Peter Gerardi Jr., 40, of Ashburn, was taken into custody and is charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Gerardi is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center but will be transferred to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
