Company To Expand Loudoun County Office Into Global Headquarters
An industrial technology company will expand its current presence in Loudoun County by moving its global headquarters.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A technology company will establish its global headquarters in Loudoun County, expanding its current office.
ORBCOMM, which provides industrial Internet of Things solutions, will expand to 22,000 square feet of office space for its global headquarters. ORBCOMM's current office is located at 22970 Indian Creek Dr #300, Sterling, VA. The expansion will include an investment up to $3 million and an estimated 51 new jobs.
The global headquarters is pending approval by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors on July 15.

"Virginia is proud to welcome ORBCOMM’s global headquarters to Virginia,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin in a statement. "This decision highlights our commitment to innovation, workforce development, and creating an environment where advanced industries can thrive. We look forward to the economic opportunities and technological leadership ORBCOMM will bring to the Commonwealth."
The global company specializes in Internet of Things, which refers to a connected devices network that allows for communication between devices. It serves more than 2.4 million connected devices, with clients including the world’s largest shipping lines, over-the-road trucking fleets, cold-chain transportation fleets, and a global network of Internet of Things solution provider partners. For example, the company provides the technology to monitor temperatures in a distributor transporting foods.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership will support the company's job growth through the state-funded Virginia Jobs Investment Program, which provides consulting services for employee recruitment and training.
