Police Apprehend 13-Year-Old Suspect for Vandalism at Trailside Middle School

The teen was said to have acted alone. In addition to the school, he spray painted multiple cars and school busses earlier this week.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office announced it has identified an Ashburn teenager as a suspect in a string a vandalisms affecting Trailside Middle School and a collection of vehicles in the area.

The incidents occurred during overnight hours on Sept. 8.

Loudoun Sheriff’s Deputies received multiple reports of vehicles spray painted with graffiti on Gatwick Square and Wintergrove Drive, as well as a report of graffiti on the walls of the school and on the sides of two school busses.

Detectives, with help from Loudoun County Sheriff’s School Resource Officers and Loudoun County Public Schools, identified a 13-year-old as the suspect in the case. Authorities determined the suspect committed these acts alone and that the vandalisms are not the result of gang-related activity.

The teenager, whose name cannot be released due to the fact that he’s a minor, is facing multiple juvenile petitions for destruction of property.
