Police: In Fight Over Pot, Everyone Gets Arrested

Fight inside a car draws attention, police, arrests, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A failed attempt to steal drugs instead of paying for them drew the attention of police — with disappointing results for all involved.

Loudoun County deputies were responding to a call in the afternoon on Jan. 6 regarding would appeared to be three people fighting in a car in the 21900 block of Greentree Ter. in Sterling.

As the men were separated and detained, deputies found marijuana in the car, according to a Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office release.

It was determined that two suspects had attempted to take the weed without paying for it and a struggle ensued with the seller, according to the LCSO. At one point a handgun was displayed and it was recovered inside the car by deputies.

Erick A. Ayala Jr., 21, of Sterling, and Ja’Vonte L. Miller, 22, of Ashburn were charged with robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of narcotics, brandishing a firearm and simple assault. Ayala and Miller remain held without bond.

The third suspect, Donald L. Russell, 23, of Sterling, was charged with possession with intent to distribute and simple assault.
