Police Identify Pedestrian Killed In Chantilly Crash On Thursday

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Authorities have identified the man who was killed on Thursday morning when a truck hit him in Chantilly.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 44-year-old Shawn Potter.

Investigators have not publicly identified or charged the pickup truck driver who fatally struck Potter.

The crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. on Thursday morning near John Mosby Highway near Pleasant Valley Road. Authorities reported that Potter was trying to cross John Mosby Highway when the pickup truck hit him.

The truck driver stayed at the scene after the crash. Potter was pronounced dead at the scene.
