Police: Man With Parrot Tried To Break Into Cars

He's facing concealed weapon charge, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

An Ashburn man was arrested Wednesday after residents spotted him with a parrot on his shoulder, attempting to break into vehicles, according to the Loudoun County sheriff’s Office.

Joseph A. Tira, 25, was walking a dog in the area of Gloucester Parkway and Chamberlain Terrace in Ashburn on Wednesday afternoon, and was reported by residents to be carrying a firearm, a police report stated. Deputies responded to the scene and arrested him for carrying a concealed weapon.

Personnel from Loudoun County Animal Services also responded to the scene to assist with caring for the dog and the parrot, the sheriff’s office said.
