Police: One Arrested at Late-Night Party in Sterling

Fight broke out at large gathering, says Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

A Loudoun County sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries early Monday while breaking up a fight at a party in Sterling, the sheriff’s office said.

The party took place at a home in the 47500 block of Compton Circle, according to a police report. One resident of the home, Stephen A. Maclean, 20, was charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was also wanted on an arrest warrant in Newport News, VA, for failure to appear in court, the sheriff’s office said.

Sheriff’s deputies went to the residence at 1:50 a.m. in response to a loud noise complaint. Upon arrival, they discovered a large group of people involved in a fight, the police report said.

One deputy worked to control the crowd as several party-goers kept fighting despite verbal commands to stop. Several other people fled the area on foot.

A woman was found on the ground and was checked by rescue personnel, but she declined further treatment at the scene, the police report said.
