Potomac Falls Students Charged With Xanax Distrubution

Two Potomac Falls High School students have been charged with Xanax distribution following a month-long investigation: LCSO

STERLING, VA — Following a month-long investigation, two 16-year-old students from Potomac Falls High School, 46400 block of Algonkian Parkway, were charged Friday with felony distribution of a schedule IV narcotic (Xanax) on school property, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Because the students are juveniles, their names weren't released.

On April 21, Police began investigating a report that seven students, all 8th-graders, shared drinks purposefully laced with the anti-depressant drug Xanax at River Bend Middle School, 46200 block of Algonkian Parkway. School Resource officers tried to figure out whether the students knew what was in the drinks and where the Xanax was obtained.

The seven students at River Bend were examined by a school nurse but no one had to be hospitalized. The students were sent home with a parent. At Potomac Falls, a School Resource officer reported that one student was acting strangely, and another student later was found to be in possession of a Xanax mixture. None of the middle school students were charged.
