Registration Begins For Loudoun Lyme Race in Ashburn

The 10K (5K) race is May 7, and is put on to raise money for finding more effective treatments and potentially a cure, for Lyme disease.

ASHBURN, VA — Registration has opened for the 7th Annual Loudoun Lyme Race, a charitable event to raise both money for and awareness of potential cures for Lyme disease.

The race begins 8 a.m. May 7 at Brambleton Town Center, 22855 Brambleton Plaza.

Organizers, including founder DryHome Roofing and Siding, say Lyme disease is more prevalent in Loudoun County than any other county in Virginia.

The races include a 10K, 5K and a 1K family fun run.

Officials say the race has raised more than $250,000 to support research and advocacy efforts.

The race costs $30 for adults/$25 for children under 14. Following May 3, adults cost $35/children $30. The fair is free. Proceeds benefit the National Capital Lyme Disease Association, a nonprofit offering education and support. Along with the race, DryHome’s Loudoun Lyme Race will have an informational fair with booths from local businesses, the medical community and vendors.
