Baby Killed, Mother Seriously Injured After Struck By Jeep in Lansdowne

Crash near Seldens Landing Elementary School on Wednesday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

LANSDOWNE, VA — A 5-month-old boy has died after being struck by a car in Lansdowne on Wednesday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The boy's mother was seriously injured.

According to investigators, shortly after 8:10 a.m., the woman was pushing her child's stroller across Riverside Parkway from Coton Manor Drive toward Kipheart Drive.

The two were in a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to an LCSO statement.

The mother is being treated for serious injuries at a local hospital, but she is expected to survive.

The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit and the Loudoun County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office are reviewing the circumstances of the wreck to determine possible charges.
