Senior Softball Championships May 16-21 in Loudoun County
The 11th annual Atlantic Coast Championships, a senior softball tournament with players ages 40-80, is May 16-21 in Loudoun County.

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — If you dig watching softball, you'll dig watching this — call it softball with a twist. That's because more than 100 teams from up and down the East Coast will converge on Loudoun County next week for the 11th annual Atlantic Coast Championships, May 16-21. And the twist? It's senior softball, and the players will be as young as 40 and as old as 80.
Besides Virginia, states represented include Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri , New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia. It's a Tournament of Champions qualifier, and the winners of each division will advance to the the national Tournament of Champions, held in February in Polk County, Florida.

The first session is May 16-18. Teams in the men's 65-80 age division will compete at the Potomack Lakes Sportsplex, 20280 Cascades Parkway in Sterling, beginning at 8 a.m.
The second session is May 19-21. Teams in the men's 50-60 age division will compete, as well as the men's and women's 40 Master division during the third session, May 20-21. Sites include the Potomack Lakes Sportsplex, Brambleton Regional Park, 42180 Ryan Road in Ashburn, and Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park, 42405 Claudia Drive in Leesburg.
