Series Of Forums To Tackle Youth Vaping, Internet Safety
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with Loudoun County schools, will host a series of forums in November and December.
ASHBURN, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, along with Loudoun County Public Schools Student Assistance Services, will continue a series of forums this month and next focusing on technology safety for teens and the dangers of youth vaping.
Topics discussed include ways to keep kids safe online, public school resources available to students and the hazards associated with vaping among youth. The first forum will be held Nov. 7 in partnership with the Prevention Alliance of Loudoun at the Sterling Library. The forum will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Additional forums planned at the following times. Each will be held from 7-9 p.m.

- Nov. 13: Belmont Ridge Middle School, 19045 Upper Belmont Pl., Leesburg
- Nov. 20: Blue Ridge Middle School, 551 East A St., Purcellville
- Dec. 4: John Champe High School, 41535 Sacred Mountain St., Aldie
- Dec. 18: Broad Run High School, 21670 Ashburn Rd., Ashburn
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the forums will give parents a "straightforward and graphic look at the dark world behind technology." The forums also will highlight facts about youth vaping, and will offer parents pointers on how to talk to their kids about it.
Due to the forum's content, the event is intended only for parents.
