STERLING, VA — For single mom Becky Wang, her recent business openings have come with a cause behind them. Driven by the need for quality care for her son on the autism spectrum, she opened Becky’s Healthcare as a home care business serving people with disabilities, seniors and others needing care. Now, she has a new business called Home Clean Heroes, providing professional cleaning services to the Ashburn and Sterling area.

The business name Home Clean Heroes has a double meaning. First, the business supports first responders with a portion of every clean benefiting the First Responders Children’s Foundation. Second, the business refers to its cleaning staff as "heroes" rather than maids.

Nationwide, the company is starting a new program to award four children of first responders with a $5,000 scholarship.

Wang told Patch Home Clean Heroes has been working with its partner first responder foundation to donate response to the Sterling home explosion that killed a firefighter and injured others. The business also plans to offer free cleanings to first responders.

"We really do feel that the first responders are the true heroes in the communities we serve," Home Clean Heroes President Joe Delatte told Patch.

Home Clean Heroes is a Virginia Beach-based franchise with locations in about a dozen states, and Wang is the first Northern Virginia franchisee. Loudoun County Economic Development held a ribbon cutting last Thursday for Home Clean Heroes of Dulles, located at 22375 Broderick Drive, Suite 250, Sterling, VA.

Wang is a former realtor who has started businesses in the U.S. and overseas. She started Becky’s Healthcare, realizing she could take care of her son while providing home care services for similar families.

"It has been difficult doing business as a single mother," said Wang.

After using a cleaning service that wasn't meeting her expectations, she was motivated to open her own. She decided to work with Home Clean Heroes because of the mission to give back to the community.

"So many families in our area have two working adults now and find it difficult to find the time to maintain their home while balancing hectic schedules and the need for personal rest and relaxation," said Wang. "We hope to provide trustworthy, reliable, and quality service while also giving back to our local responders."

For the cleaning services, Wang says Home Clean Heroes has a policy to never cross contaminate cleaning materials, uses microfiber towels instead of paper towels and uses refillable product bottles to reduce waste. The staff also use cleaning solutions that are safe for children and pets.

"That makes me happy because I have a lot of allergies. I want it to be clean, but I also want it to be safe," said Wang.

Loudoun County has worked with Wang in the past on her home care business in addition to hosting a ribbon cutting and providing resources to help Home Clean Heroes open. Her home care employees were able to be one of the first receiving COVID-19 vaccines because they are considered essential workers.

"Loudoun County is one of the best counties to have a business. I got so much support," said Wang.
