SOUTH STREET BARN MARKET CELEBRATES DAIRY MONTH WITH PETTING ZOO, HAND-DIPPED ICE CREAM AND BIG VENDOR LINEUP
Don't just see the Shenandoah Valley, be part of it for the day!
WOODSTOCK (June 16, 2015) – South Street Barn Market opened its doors for business in early March with snow and ice still on the ground. On Saturday, June 20, less than four months after opening, the market is celebrating Dairy Month with its biggest ever vendor lineup, a petting zoo, and ice cream hand-dipped by a local chapter of the 4-H club.
The market opens on Saturday at 8 a.m. with 20 or more Shenandoah Valley vendors who produce and sell products including veggies and fruit, hormone and antibiotic free meat, baked goods, prepared foods, plants and flowers, honey, milk, cheese, eggs, furniture, wood crafts, aprons, pottery, afghans, handcrafted soap, chocolates, popcorn and nuts. The Mini Menagerie Petting Zoo, sponsored by Country Rhodes Farm, will be on site from 10 a.m. until noon. The Lebanon Church 4-H club will serve up hand-dipped black raspberry, cookie dough, and chocolate Garber’s Ice Cream, also from 10 a.m. to noon. The Shenandoah County Adult Dairy Club is sponsoring the ice cream event, and the proceeds will go to the 4-H club.
In keeping with the spirit of community, South Street Barn Market and its customers support Luke’s Backpack, a local non-profit that helps feed Shenandoah County’s hungry children, by selling $1 raffle tickets for monthly vendor-inspired products and gift certificates. June’s raffle is a $40 gift certificate for Country Rhodes Farm. Tickets may be purchased at the Fancy Bolts Aprons booth. The drawing takes place after the last Saturday of each month. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to Luke’s Backpack.
