Spray Paint Vandals Target Sterling Area Community

Incidents this week follow string of vandalism in Ashburn earlier this year.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has a new batch of vandalism reports to add to incidents reported earlier this year in Ashburn. This time, the incidents were in the Sterling area. But hateful messages and destruction of property is similar to the previous cases.

On Sunday morning, officers responded to the area of Chelmsford Court in Sterling. Eight vehicles parked along the street had been spray painted with obscenities on the windows and the bodies of the cars.

Early Monday morning, a van and a garage door on Stafford Court were found with spray paint on them. Deputies report that one of the garage doors had a religious or ethnic slur written on it.

Two cars on Environs Road were also found with spray paint on them. One of them had a symbol that resembled a swastika painted on the hood, according to an LCSO release.

And deputies also found a stop sign that had been defaced with a grease pen at the corner of Heather Glen Road and Tripleseven Road.
