Steakhouse, Comfort Food Place Coming to One Loudoun
Two restaurants are latest additions to mixed-use community.

Two new restaurants will open their doors at One Loudoun, a mixed-use community in Ashburn at Route 7 and the Loudoun County Parkway.
The third location of the Family Meal restaurant will open on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Family Meal, a 5,200-square-foot spot at 20470 Exchange St., will join Alamo Drafthouse and the Fresh Market as well as Zoe’s Kitchen, Bar Louie, Elevation Burger and Nando’s Peri-Peri in One Loudoun, according to the Washington Business Journal.

Chef Bryan Voltaggio launched Family Meal in 2012 as a casual counterpart to Volt, his high-end restaurant in Frederick, Md. The diner-style eatery offers breakfast all day, as well as the “Top Chef” alum’s takes on comfort foods, including chicken pot pie fritters, shrimp and grits, meatloaf and fried chicken. He opened a second Family Meal in Baltimore last year, and plans for a fourth to open in Richmond later this year.
One Loudoun also will get its first fine-dining restaurant later this year with the opening of Eddie Merlot’s, a steakhouse from Indiana-based Platinum Restaurant Group, the Washington Business Journal said.

The 11,000-square-foot eatery plans to open in the fall. Eddie Merlot’s also specializes in seafood and has an extensive wine list, thanks to founder Bill Humphries, whose nickname is the namesake of the restaurant.
