Police: Man Arrested in Murder-for-Hire Plot

Sterling man's target was his ex-wife, according to Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sterling man on Thursday in a murder-for-hire plot after he allegedly solicited a man to kill his ex-wife.

Dallas W. Brumback Jr., 35, was apprehended without incident in the 100 block of Edds Lane in Sterling and charged with attempted capital murder, according to a statement from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The Loudoun County deputies received assistance from the FBI and members of its Joint Terrorism Task Force in the investigation, according to the statement.

The investigation began in November, after Brumback allegedly met with a subject known to him and reached an agreement to have his ex-wife murdered, according to the sheriff’s office.

Brumback is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
