Sterling Woman Assaults Deputy Checking On Elderly Woman: Police

A Loudoun County deputy was assaulted Oct. 14 while checking on an elderly Sterling woman in her home, according to a sheriff's report.

STERLING, VA — A Sterling woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly assaulted a Loudoun County deputy who was checking on the welfare of an elderly woman. Bonita R. Weinstein, 47, is facing a charge of assault on law enforcement after she and another man allegedly became disorderly while deputies were in the elderly woman's home.

According to a sheriff's report, the elderly woman called around 8:45 p.m. to say she wanted to leave her house in the 46100 block of Aisquith Terrace due to issues with her family. When deputies arrived, they found the elderly woman at the home, in addition to Bonita Weinstein and 43-year-old Lowell Weinstein, also of Sterling.

While deputies were in the home, Bonita Weinstein and Lowell Weinstein became disorderly, according to the sheriff's report. During the incident, Bonita Weinstein assaulted one of the deputies while Lowell Weinstein attempted to prevent deputies from conducting their investigation, officials said.

Lowell Weinstein was also arrested for hindering a deputy. Both were taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where they were released on personal recognizance bonds.
