STERLING, VA—An unknown driver approached a student at a bus stop Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Sanderson Drive and peppered him with questions, included whether he needed a ride, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Police later identified the driver and said "no public safety concerns were identified and no crime had occurred."
Shortly after 8 a.m., the driver approached the student and asked if he needed a ride to school and then asked if he needed anything to eat or drink. The student declined and later told his bus driver, who notified personnel at Dominion High School.
Deputies searched the area and identified the subject before deciding not to pursue any charges. Even so, residents are reminded to report all suspicious activity by calling 703-777-1021.
