Team Ashburn Pleased to Announce New Addition to Coaching Staff
Former Team USA Member Joins Instructors of Local Skating Team

Laurie Peltola joins Team Ashburn following a highly-successful competitive skating career with Team Braemar. A native of Edina, Minnesota, Laurie began skating competitively for Team Braemar at age 8. As a member of Team Braemar’s Team USA Junior team, Laurie competed internationally in Zagreb, Croatia where her team won the gold medal at the Zagreb Cup. Braemar also competed at the Prague Cup, where they finished in 7th place.
In future seasons, while captain of the Junior team, Laurie helped lead Team Braemar to the silver medal at the 2009 Spring Cup in Milan. The team went on to win the gold medal at the 2009 National Synchronized Skating Championship. With their first place finish at Nationals, Laurie and the rest of Team Braemar were honored to represent their country as Team USA, where they placed fifth overall at the World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships in Neuchatal, Switzerland.
“We are excited that Laurie has chosen to join the coaching staff of Team Ashburn. Her enthusiasm, Team USA experience, and skill will serve us well both now and well into the future,” said Jenny Cherry, Team Ashburn’s skating Director.

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University of Ohio and currently works at Phillips Reality Capital as a business development manager.
