Sheriff’s deputies responded at 4:28 p.m. June 9 to the scene of the accident, on the W&OD trail just west of Ashburn Village Boulevard. Dudgeon was riding his bicycle when he attempted to pass a juvenile bicyclist on the trail, the sheriff’s office said.
The juvenile then attempted to take a side path and clipped Dudgeon’s bicycle. Dudgeon fell from his bike; the juvenile was not injured.
