Firefighter Brings Gift to Traumatized Child
A Loudoun County firefighter went above and beyond the call of duty recently to help a traumatized child, according to a Loudoun County Professional Firefighters - iAFF Local 3756.
On Dec. 4, firefighters were dispatched to a fire in Ashburn. The fire had started after a young boy accidentally tipped over a candle. After extinguishing the fire, Captain Mike Mahoney and Firefighter Dillon Huss talked to the child because he was very upset and shaking uncontrollably. >>>read more.

Shed Security Detail? Gov’s Office Dismisses Lawmaker’s Idea
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office has called a state senator’s plan to take away the governor’s security detail a “reactionary temper tantrum.” Virginia state Sen. Bill Carrico (R-40th), came up with the idea after the Virginia attorney general announced that Virginia would no longer recognize concealed gun permits from 25 states, including Tennessee.
“As a gun owner himself, the governor is ready to work with the General Assembly on common-sense steps like universal background checks,” said McAuliffe spokesman Brian Coy to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “Unfortunately, Mr. Carrico’s quote is a good representation of the interest he and his colleagues have shown in productive work on this serious issue so far.” >>>read more.
