“I humbly accept this award on behalf of my parents Madeline and Antonio Germinario, Italian immigrants, who vested every ounce of energy into my three siblings and myself to become contributing members of the community. They also stressed the importance of education at an early age,” said Germinario. “I also credit the Sisters of Saint Francis and the Jesuits of St. Peter’s Preparatory High School, who shaped me into an Italian American, who instilled within me the culture to put others first. I’ve been fortunate to excel in my career, which allows me to fully support those in need, and in particular, the many children who I’ve come to know, love and support as they overcome the odds.”
Professionally, Germinario co-founded Glass Projects Resource, Inc. (GPR, Inc.), with Khalil Gabriel Rouhana in 2005. GPR builds enclosures and interior glazing projects and is a major player in the exterior wall systems market in the Mid-Atlantic, U.S.A. While his work spans hundreds of projects, Germinario helped build the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, The National Museum of the American Indian, the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse, the GSA Headquarters Building, and the National Intrepid Center for Excellence at the Bethesda Naval Hospital.
