Weather Decision For Loudoun County Schools On Friday, Jan. 28
Snow is expected to come to the region around 5 p.m. on Friday, and Loudoun County Public Schools have adjusted plans accordingly.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Evening activities at Loudoun County Public Schools on Friday are cancelled due to expected inclement weather, the school system announced. However, the school district will not dismiss students early.
All campuses will close at 6 p.m. on Friday. The school system plans to reopen campuses at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Loudoun County and other parts of the region are under a winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service expects 1 to 3 inches of snow with impacts to the Friday evening commute.

The Virginia Department of Transportation, which maintains most roads in the region, pretreated roads and will deploy trucks Friday to treat roads as needed. With temperatures expected to be below freezing in then next several days, VDOT urges drivers to use caution in areas that can be icy, particularly bridges, ramps, overpasses and elevated surfaces.
